Mr. Titus began his legal career in the Arizona office of a national law firm based in San Francisco, where he was involved in several cases of national prominence in the antitrust, securities, and unfair competition areas of law.
Mr. Titus has been a Certified Real Estate Specialist since 1986 when the Bar first recognized this specialty. He has participated in many continuing legal education seminars and panels for the State Bar of Arizona, Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and other civic and professional groups. Among the topics of his presentations are “Recent Developments in Federal Securities Law,” “Ethical Considerations in Commercial Real Estate Transactions,” “Financing Arizona’s Technological Growth,” “Getting to Yes with Your Banker,” “Private Offerings of Securities Under Regulation D,” “Federal and State Exemptions for Securities Offerings,” “Arizona Legal Skills,” and “Securities Law: What You Don’t Know Can Hurt You!”
Mr. Titus is the former chairman of the State Bar of Arizona Securities Law Section, is a past member of the Board of Directors of the Scottsdale Bar Association, and has been active in a number of attorneys’ groups. He has an “AV Preeminent” rating from Martindale-Hubbell and is listed in Southwest Super Lawyers. In 2011, he was selected as one of Arizona's Finest Lawyers. Mr. Titus has been on the board of directors and active in a number of charitable and civic organizations, including the Arizona Kidney Foundation, where he served as President during the 1991-1992 term. Mr. Titus currently serves on the executive council of the Legal Netlink Alliance.
Mr. Titus received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and Mathematics from the University of Arizona and was awarded the degree of Juris Doctor from the Arizona State University College of Law. He is a 1996 recipient of the Alumni Achievement Award from Arizona State University. His past academic achievements include a national award for a publication resulting from his honors work in experimental economics, where he studied under Vernon Smith, the 2002 recipient of the Nobel Prize in Economics.
Mr. Titus was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and resides in Scottsdale with his wife Laura. Their daughter, Katherine, recently graduated from Vanderbilt University, and their son Derek is attending Arizona State University.
